There are generally two types of kitchen faucets in use today. Single-handle faucets are centersets where hot and cold are controlled by one lever or knob that's often part of the spout. The most common type of kitchen faucet is the widespread kitchen faucet. This type of faucet requires three separate holes and consists of the hot-water valve, the cold-water valve and the spout all being mounted separately.

Different groups of kitchen sink faucets

Generally speaking, two basic groups of kitchen faucets can be considered. Wall mounted or sink-mounted. In the past wall mounted faucets where quite common, whilst nowadays the bulk of the faucets are directly mounted on top of the kitchen sinks.

Wall mount faucets require a separate wall-mount valve and drain for installation. Bathroom wall mounted faucets are used in several sink designs including vessel sinks. Wall mounted sinks are either hung on a metal bracket attached to the wall or bolted directly to the framing.

Tub faucets are being revolutionized with each passing day. Tub faucets make a bath or a shower a pleasant experience.
